Eating 'Solids'
This weekend Ben and I decided it was time to start feeding Henry solid foods...By solid, I mean watery oatmeal...
So, tonight I bought him some oatmeal and fed it to him. He was a pro! He seemed to enjoy it. It was super cute. He sat in his highchair next to Ivy. Ivy ate a waffle and eggs for dinner and Henry got watery oatmeal. At least he has something to aspire to. :-)
Enjoy the pics. I sure enjoyed taking them!

A day on the farm
This weekend has been GREAT and we topped it off on Sunday by spending the majority of our day at Morgan's parents farm in Yamhill. It's amazing out there.
The drive is nice and pretty and on a lazy Sunday morning it really doesn't take that long to get there. The farm is beautiful and serene. It is relaxing just walking around out there. We saw chicken, goats, baby goats, a cat with 8 toes on each front paw, a horse and buffalo. Ivy got to feed the goats and really wanted to hold a chicken, but they aren't tame enough.
We then retired to the beauty that is Dan and Patty's back deck. The deck and backyard face more of the pastures that surround their house and we got to watch the baby goats frolick while we ate an amazing lunch. It was so great!
Thanks to the Armstrongs for hosting us and thanks to Morgan for bringing such beauty to our family! We are already looking forward to our next visit.
Saturday afternoon and evening was spent at the Davis/Armstrong house enjoying their backyard and chit chatting. We bbq'd buffalo burgers and had a great time with Morgan, Keegs and grandpa Terry. Ivy sat in her own big girl chair and enjoyed her own helping of chips and salsa. It was pretty cute.
It's been an amazing weekend. I'm so glad summer has arrived!

Growing Up Fast

OK, so by daily updates I meant monthly at best.
Our life is CRAZY.
Ben and I spent Memorial Day weekend in Monterey with some of the kids from his swim team. It was a nice getaway.
Ivy and Henry spent that weekend with Grammy and Grandpa in Redmond with GG and Great Grandpa. They had a great time. Ivy came home feeding herself with her fork and spoon and Henry now sleeps through the night. It's fabulous.
I told my mom that I'll be sending Ivy and her potty chair over for another long weekend soon and hope she comes home potty trained. :-)
We got to skype with Andrea last Saturday and that was fun. Ivy was a bit confused about where Auntie was. She could see her, but couldn't grasp why Auntie was living in the TV. :-)
Here are some fabulous pics!
Enjoy.

Hi Auntie!
This blog is mostly for Andrea.
Andrea was invited to work in Bulgaria with the Peace Corp for 2 years.
She moved on Mother's Day.
Not a minute goes by that I don't think of her. I am going to try to take lots of pics and keep this blog updated until she is back home.
I don't want her to miss a beat. :-)
Everything here is going well. My back has seen better days, but I'm sure it will see them again soon.
The babies are growing like weeds.
Ivy finally nodded her head yes last night! No more Miss Negative. She also started trying to use a fork and spoon. (Pic included)
Anni K is working with her on her flashcards and she is still smart as a whip.
Henry is already in 6 month clothes. I had to go buy him a new summer wardrobe.
He has the cutest little plaid shorts now. :-)
Today was the Forest Heights garage sale. It was fun to find a few treasures among the seriously overpriced goods.
Next weekend we will be in Keizer for the Iris Festival. Ivy's first parade. Should be a ton of fun!
We love you!
Here's a bunch of pics.
PS. Tonight is the Holy Cross Auction. I'm hoping the quilt goes for a bunch!

Life is great!

Henry is already 9 weeks old and Ivy just celebrated her 15 month birthday! Good lord how time flies.
Henry's little personality is really starting to shine. He loves to smile and giggle. He follows you with his eyes and he's super strong. Ben is really enjoying working with him on sitting up in bumbo seat.
Ivy is walking everywhere and enjoys being a big sister. She is extremely helpful and a bit protective of Henry. When he's crying she walks over and rubs his head. It's SO cute!
They had their regular check-ups this week and we heard what we already knew...Ivy is long and lean and Henry is our little line-backer.
Ivy weighed in at 22.5 lbs and 31.5 inches long. She's off the charts for her height and 50th percentile for her weight.
Henry weighed in at 14.4 lbs and 22 inches long. He's off the charts for weight and 50th percentile for height. :-)
I have a ton of pics that I have not uploaded to the computer yet, but I have a few from my cell phone...so for those of you in baby withdrawal, here you go. :-)
Enjoy!
