Hi Auntie!

This blog is mostly for Andrea.

Andrea was invited to work in Bulgaria with the Peace Corp for 2 years.
She moved on Mother's Day.

Not a minute goes by that I don't think of her. I am going to try to take lots of pics and keep this blog updated until she is back home.

I don't want her to miss a beat. :-)

Everything here is going well. My back has seen better days, but I'm sure it will see them again soon.

The babies are growing like weeds.
Ivy finally nodded her head yes last night! No more Miss Negative. She also started trying to use a fork and spoon. (Pic included)
Anni K is working with her on her flashcards and she is still smart as a whip.
Henry is already in 6 month clothes. I had to go buy him a new summer wardrobe.
He has the cutest little plaid shorts now. :-)

Today was the Forest Heights garage sale. It was fun to find a few treasures among the seriously overpriced goods.

Next weekend we will be in Keizer for the Iris Festival. Ivy's first parade. Should be a ton of fun!

We love you!

Here's a bunch of pics.

PS. Tonight is the Holy Cross Auction. I'm hoping the quilt goes for a bunch!

Life is great!

Henry is already 9 weeks old and Ivy just celebrated her 15 month birthday! Good lord how time flies.

Henry's little personality is really starting to shine. He loves to smile and giggle. He follows you with his eyes and he's super strong. Ben is really enjoying working with him on sitting up in bumbo seat.

Ivy is walking everywhere and enjoys being a big sister. She is extremely helpful and a bit protective of Henry. When he's crying she walks over and rubs his head. It's SO cute!

They had their regular check-ups this week and we heard what we already knew...Ivy is long and lean and Henry is our little line-backer.

Ivy weighed in at 22.5 lbs and 31.5 inches long. She's off the charts for her height and 50th percentile for her weight.

Henry weighed in at 14.4 lbs and 22 inches long. He's off the charts for weight and 50th percentile for height. :-)

I have a ton of pics that I have not uploaded to the computer yet, but I have a few from my cell phone...so for those of you in baby withdrawal, here you go. :-)

Enjoy!

CRAZY!!!

It's been quite a while since my last posting. In the past few months we've celebrated Ivy's first birthday and welcomed our first (and only) son, Henry James Swinehart to the world.

Yes, our life has become crazier that we thought possible, but we're loving every minute of it.
Henry was born on Feb 22, 2010 at 5:18 pm. He weighed 9lbs 3oz. He looks a little like his uncle
Brock, or as my mom says, "He's the perfect combination of you and Ben....He looks just like Brock." Interesting...

Ivy loves her little brother. She loves to kiss him on the head and shake his hand. She is a huge help and enjoys putting his pacifier on his face whenever he cries. It's quite cute!
I am thrilled to have Ivy and Henry in our lives. My life is even richer now.
And I take peace in knowing that we have 2 healthy, beautiful children who make us laugh and cry and pull our hair out all within an hour. :-)
And it's all worth it, cuz I'm done. It was nuts to be pregnant for 2+ years, but we're done and can move on with the crazy adventures of the Swinehart home.
I'll post more pictures soon, but right now I'm going to take a short nap.

Ivy Update & Happy Holidays

Ivy paid a visit to Santa last week. She didn't cry and was very intrigued by his beard and glasses. Got some super cute pics!

Last weekend Ivy said her first real word. We got to Keizer on Friday afternoon and she looked at Bud E the dog, pointed and said Dog. The rest of the weekend each time the dogs entered the room Ivy would point and say dog. It was SO cute!

Ivy is still enjoying her swim lessons. She loves to 'swim' and dive under the water. She is intrigued by the other babies in her class and she can spot a ball on the other side of the pool. It's hilarious.

She is growing like a weed and has 6 teeth. Her toothy grin is so cute.

She is crawling all over the place and I wouldn't be surprised to see her walk on her own very soon.

She loves to stand by the front window and watch the world. In fact, she now crawls under the Xmas tree to get to 'her window'.

We are still in awe of her everyday and can't believe her brother arrives in 10 short weeks.

Happy Holidays!

Halloween and other firsts

Tonight was Ivy's Halloween dress rehearsal. We dressed her up and took her to the pool where she paraded with all of the other little kids in costume. It was quite fun and she seemed to like it. Can't wait til tomorrow night. :-)

There are a few other pics in this album as well. Her first 'ride' with her Papa on his Harley and her first Rocking Horse ride.

She LOVES the rocking horse. When we stopped rocking her she'd rock back and forth trying to get it to go.

Enjoy the pics below. If the link breaks check out the Shutterfly album.
