Still Relaxin'

We are still on the hunt for the perfect beach for spearfishing.

We haven't found a beach that resembles a barrel. We did go back to Tunnels and Ben had some close calls. But, in the end, we bought our dinner again. :-)

The upside to Ben not successfully spearing a fish is that we have explored some fabulous restaurants and local cuisine. We found a great little place in Hanalei called Postcards. It's a vegetarian bistro that also serves fish, not to mention the delicious Chocolate Lava Cake we shared.

Wahoo's is another favorite with their Ahi Poke salad that delivers a mountain of Ahi Sashimi on a bed of organic lettuce and homemade dressing.

Although it sounds like we are living the life eating out all the time...Ben cooks breakfast almost every day and we snack for lunch. Our goal is to only eat out once a day and so far we're doing a good job on that. However, there are some quaint little bakeries around that serve up a great breakfast when needed.

In our quest, we have found some rather gorgeous and secluded little spots (beaches and restaurants). When we aren't sunning ourselves or hunting our dinner we are living a rather lazy life of sun, swim and Olympics.

We were screaming and cheering in our bed the other night as we witnessed the best relay of all time. It was amazing. We are still awed by it. Michael Phelps seems to own the pool each time he swims and it is a treat to be able to watch him.

We have only been south once so far. Again, this trip was a quest for the best spearfishing spot. We ran into an old friend of mine from Eugene. What a small world. We went to Poipu and saw the Spouting Horn. That was pretty cool.

Today we leave Kapa'a Shores and check in to Pono Kai.

Hope you enjoy the phohtos. I'll be posting more on our shutterfly account since we are limited here.

Maybe ask some locals about the secret ancient spearfishing grounds....
